Fake Episodes

Seeing that Star Trek spans so long, character stories ended up running alongside the series and became just as long, too. I figured I wouldn't be able to write out every little story idea I had, but I found writing little episode synopses was a fun way to have a little "timeline" of events, so to speak. These are all essentially little daydreams I've had, but whenever I write or draw one of these out, I'll link it here. Consider this list eternally unfinished, I'll probably be adding to it and rearranging things for years to come.

I've also given these season and episode numbers. Tossing your OCs into a series is always going to end up a bit contradictory (he was on the Enterprise the whole time, I swear), but it felt like another fun way to have things line up.

(TNG S04E13.5) Configuration, Part 1

The Enterprise engages in a tense hostage situation when a Romulan vessel captures Data. However, Data’s captor turns out to be an unlikely ally.

(TNG S04E13.5) Configuration, Part 2

Maljek, currently in the Brig, tries to understand the chaotic nature of the Enterprise. Meanwhile, a computer virus threatens to overtake the ship.

(TNG S04E16.5) Good Old Days

Maljek is invited to a class on known Romulan culture to give some insight. After seeing the differences in methods of teaching, he goes to Geordi to find out how the academy accounted for his blindness.

(TNG S04E25.5) Method Acting

Data and Geordi invite Maljek to the holodeck, but Maljek has trouble assuming the villainous role of Moriarty. Dr. Crusher offers him a few acting lessons, and Maljek gives some insight on Romulans values of deceit.

(TNG S05E02.5) Bottle

Worf and Maljek are put on the same away team to explore the ruins of an ancient planet. Upon activating what seems to be a trap, the planet proves to still be alive- the two are seemingly transported back in time to a lively colosseum, and must work together to escape.

(TNG S05E05.5) Rivalry

Maljek encounters his sister Voni while visiting a trade planet. Voni mistakenly assumes Maljek to be a spy, and promises a high rank and a good life back on Romulus for his efforts. Maljek is left to decide whether he wants to return to a possibly better home, or stay on the Enterprise.

(TNG S05E10.5) Grass is Always Greener

Strangely advanced alien technology swaps the bodies of Data, Maljek, and Worf (Data in Maljek’s body, Maljek in Worf’s, Worf’s in Data’s). Data deals with new sensations and emotions several times stronger than a human’s, Maljek tries to suppress new Klingon instincts, and Worf deals with a lack of instinct altogether. The three soon find their bodies start to reject their personalities and must find a way to return to normal.

(TNG S05E12.5) The Burden of Knowledge

Voni returns to confront the Enterprise, demanding that Maljek be turned over for his crimes against the Romulan Empire. Maljek knows he can find evidence that can prove his innocence by hacking the Romulan ship- but Picard raises issue with the ethics of doing so.

(TNG S05E15.5) Random Access Memory

Data experiences a cyberattack similar to ransomware, scanning through his system and locking away certain files. Maljek and Geordi use the holodeck to access his memories, where they meet Lal.

(TNG S05E021.5) Briar Patch

A heavily infectious disease overtakes the Enterprise. The cure is a specific kind of radiation beam, but before they can travel to a planet with such technology they are cut off by a Romulan ship. The Romulan captain demands Maljek be handed over, and he suddenly agrees, telling the captain he was indeed doing spy work. In actuality, Maljek knows he is to be executed either way- so he goads the captain into hitting the Enterprise with the very radiation they need.

(TNG S06E08.5) Edge of Society

The Enterprise discovers a small, hidden colony of Romulans near the border of the Neutral Zone, many of which have disabilities. Maljek joins the away team to visit, but their presence at the colony alerts Voni, who comes to confront them with her warbird. Picard and Maljek must work out a solution to keep the colony safe from Romulan law, and to convince Voni to let them go.

(TNG S06E12.5) Viral

The Enterprise visits Tyrus VII, and Data introduces Maljek to Dr. Farallon. A student working under her turns out to be a hacker. She secretly infects Data with a very literal virus, replicating a fever, chills, and even sneezing. While the original virus was meant to last 2-3 days, like a real one, it begins to infect other computer systems- and mutate.
